Counselling is used by many people to look at difficulties in their lives. Counselling provides a confidential space in which you can receive help to resolve issues and create a life with more clarity. This may be achieved through exploring your hopes, fears, beliefs and gaining awareness about the relationships you have with yourself and others. Counselling can create a window through which you may see new choices, other ways of approaching past or present problems and behaviours, and make changes - if you do things the way you always did, you will get what you always got, if you want something different, make a change.
I am a British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Member and work within their Ethical Framework. My qualifications include Certificates in Person Centred Counselling, Integrative Counselling, Time Limited Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and adult education. I offer both short and long term counselling, depending on your needs. I have an Integrative approach to counselling. This means I draw on a number of therapeutic models according to your needs. The core counselling model underpinning all my work is called Person Centred. This means I always intend to treat my clients with empathy, understanding, acceptance, authenticity, and listen carefully to what they speak about. I am neither directive nor judgmental but I can certainly be challenging.
